Cavitate
This is the word of the day. Well, actually of yesterday. I thought I had chipped my tooth. It didn't hurt. My tooth was kind of jagged and hurting my tongue. So I went to the dentist. He said it looked like I had a cavity and that I had bit down on something and it "cavitated" in. So they filled it in yesterday. And I just broke the filling already.
Fun!
Anyway, I love the word cavitate. It is my new favorite word.

I had a small outboard motor boat when I was a teen, and when I turned it hard and fast, the prop would sometimes get caught in its own wake of exhaust bubbles and over-rev. My more experienced mates told me that was cavitation. It's not in a lot of dictionaries.
