Hmm.
A blank front page. I guess that means it's time to update.
Well, on the baby front, they are doing well and gaining weight. I was holding Conner the other day, and I said "Awww. I wanna get married and have babies." Gary said, "Well, why dontcha?"
For those of you that don't know, my sister and her husband met at a Valentine's Day party and almost immediately fell in love. He was so disgustingly romantic, it made me want to vomit. Don't get me wrong, I am happy for them and I am glad that they have been married, it will be ten years this September. It's just not that easy for everyone.
And speaking of getting married, Trisha and Nathan are engaged. Hooray!
Um, what else do I want to talk about?
I had a nice lunch "non-date" yesterday. Although it was his treat. And afterward I was presented with peacock feathers (his dad has a peacock). My co-workers and I think I was really on a date. But that's ok because it was a nice lunch. And I was able to eat the leftovers for my dinner at work that night.
Oh work, I guess I should get ready for work. I get to work 9 hours today. Whoopee. I don't have a schedule for next week yet, so I have no idea when my next day off is. I am probably working tomorrow and Monday, at the least. My last day off was last Sunday.....

Hmm... what to write about
Jack finally gave me a Tuesday night off, so I was able to make it to trivia after a many month absence. I went with Sean. I am actually only writing about him because he has discovered my blog and so now I am going to talk about him. HA! So there. I actually had a really good time. Especially because Sean and his friends are smart, so we did really well for a time. But then the movie round came, and they asked questions about old movies and we started to slide. And the picture round was even worse. We said that Francis Ford Coppolla and some actor whose name escapes me were Salman Rushdie and Gore Vidal. Oops.
Oh, I guess I should talk about the babies, huh? They are doing really well. The only potential downside is that Caleb failed his hearing test three times in his left ear at the hospital. But, given the fact that we didn't even think he would be here, if that's all that is going to be wrong with him, I think we can deal with it. I have a lot of pictures to scan in, but as we all know, I am lazy. Today I am actually doing some cleaning and bill paying and such, so I am not so lazy.

The babies are here!
Cheryl gave birth to Connor Daniel at 9:38pm last night. He weighs 6 pounds, 2 ounces and is 19 inches long. Caleb Patrick came out next, at 9:59pm and weighs 5 pounds, 15 ounces, also 19 inches long. Both seem to be healthy, for being 4 weeks early :) Caleb has a bruise on his head because he came out face up, but that will go away.
I guess I didn't realize how worried I was because when I walked into the room and saw Cheryl holding her babies and knew that they were ok, I just started crying. But now they're here, and they are okay. YAY! Babies!

yay for power outages
So, I got a call from my store last night. They wanted to know how to manually open the register when the power goes out. I told them that you can't. When the power goes out, you just go home. We had some pretty bad storms tear through here last night and all kinds of people are without power and trees are down everywhere. Anyway, I was thinking I would go in early so I could do the "closing" on the computer this morning and then the "opening" too. Well, it's currently 8:53. It takes me half an hour to get to work. I was due in at 9:30. Yeah, I am not going in early. I'm still going to get everything done, just not with time to spare. Oh well.

clean clean clean
Well, before we get to the cleaning...
I was supposed to be at my store at 6am for an audit...
I didn't wake up until 7:10. Oops. My alarm didn't go off. Jack didn't seem too upset with me. And the whole audit was over with by 11am, so it was all good.
So, I came home and I've been cleaning up my bedroom. It was a disaster in here! So now you can see the carpet again, and I even vacuumed. I might even dust!
I have also been thinking about my weight a lot lately (bathing suit shopping will do that to you). I have had a couple people tell me how great I look. And I just smile and say "thank you." But in my head I think "wow, if you think I look great now, you must have thought I looked like a cow 20 pounds ago." If I turn sideways on a bad day, I think I could pass for a pregnant woman. I always say I am going to watch what I eat or exercise or whatever. And then I do for a while and I fall off of it. But I at least need to exercise. Today I will be doing that as soon as my parents leave for bingo. I hate it when people watch me exercise.
Right now, I think I am going to take a nap.

okay
So, I tried to find the party by myself but I got lost.
So instead of sitting at home, moping around, I got dressed up, put on some makeup, and took myself on a date to the movies!
Yay me!

grrr
I am really, extremely and very grumpy right now.
I am supposed to go to a pool party with a friend. That, in itself, is traumatic enough. I mean, I had to go bathing suit shopping. So that already put me in a foul mood.
So, I text messaged Trevor, the friend I was going with, asking him what time he was picking me up. His response?
"For?"
He forgot! He says he didn't, but I know he did. Damn me and my social anxiety. I hate not wanting to show up places by myself.
If I had time to take a nap I would probably feel better, but the party starts at 6, and it's almost 5, so I don't think I have time. *sigh*
Edited to add: Just got a text message that says he's not feeling good. I don't know why I even bother wasting my weekend plans with him.

packing up shoes...
another day, another transfer! we're up to our ears in clearance shoes, so we are transferring out more clearance product. So, all week I have been boxing up clearance stuff. We have cases of stuff everywhere! I will be so glad when it's over tomorrow. For two reasons... one, just because it's over. And two, because I am off Thursday. Yay!
Trisha and her mom stopped by to see me at work today. That was a very nice surprise. I hadn't seen them in forever. Trisha and I are supposed to go to the Indianapolis children's museum soon. They have a Mr. Roger's exhibit. That will be nice.

my hot date
So, Orlando Bloom is in town, shooting a movie. I was supposed to go out with some friends last night and kinda be on the look out for him, but instead, at the last minute, I wound up with a hot date.
My nephew Austin!
I had been over at my sister's house, hanging out. And I just lost track of time. He and I were playing with cars, and he asked me to read him books. He showed me all his old baby toys, that he is going to give to the twins when they are born. He's so funny.
Then Cheryl went to the doctor last week. Caleb, baby B, weighed in at 5 pounds, 9 ounces. Connor, baby A, weighed in at 5 pounds, 3 ounces. She was having some contractions yesterday, so the doctors told her to get in bed, because she's at 34 weeks and they really want her to wait until 36 weeks if possible. It's so weird that we didn't think the babies were even going to make it, and now they are almost here.

Today's shout out goes to...
Trisha, of course.
I mean, she is my best friend.
I met her on the first day of high school. I tried to make friends with her by commenting on the book she was reading but she just kind of ignored me (I think she was just as shy as me, really... either that, or I was trying too hard to look cool and she could tell). Our friendship was cemented when she started throwing notes at me during Mr. Good's class. We have had so much fun over the years. I can't believe we have been friends for ten whole years already. It feels like I just met her. Crazy, how fast time passes. And even though she prefers Anime Weekend Atlanta to DragonCon, and I live in Louisville and she lives in Lexington, I'll still find time for her, and she'll still find time for me. Because dammit, she's my best friend, and I love her.
