new month, still rainy

april showers bring may... showers.

it was cold and rainy today, and we didn't have a lot of customers at work. that was fine with me. we were busy on Saturday, even though it was the Kentucky Derby. I wore a hat to work, because all women know that you have to wear a hat on Derby day.

this week there is a managers' meeting in Atlanta for like, all the managers in the southeastern U.S. and they are going to show my award winning video. I would like to be there to see it, but since I am not a manager, I don't get to go. I have to stay here and make sure the district doesn't fall apart.

I've actually got some film projects lined up. Just some short things, and I'll probably just be a production assistant, but I have to start somewhere. YAY!

In other news, I can't remember if I have posted this here or not. Austin, the nephew that is almost two years old, will say almost any word in the English language, except for "Becky." He will say Pat, Daddy, Mommy, Shawn, Grandpa, Grandpa, Sheba, but not Becky. He'll say Becky to other people, but not in front of me. He's a little punk. He knows I want him to say it, so that's why he doesn't say it. But it's ok. It's like our little game. I know he loves me. He gives me kisses and hugs.

HA! that is funny about austin... kids are so hilarious. they totally have so much going on in their little heads. it's cool that he's already learned to mess with people. maybe i'll teach my nephew, zain, to say becky for you. =)

well the funny thing is, I was telling this customer about it on saturday, and he tried to get his 21 month old to say "becky," and the kid just said "no." ha!

my little brother called me bod'n. the thing is, we didn't know it at the time. it was his new word all summer, and we couldn't figure it out. and he refused to say jodi. finally, i was pushing him along in a shopping cart, sort of absentmindedly going thru his "words." and i finally noticed that every time i tried to get him to say jodi, he said "bod'n." i was bod'n. then, when they were taking to the aiport to go home, he said "jozie." most toddlers replace the D with a another sound, at first.
