check it

we had severe weather in the area yesterday, so instead of seeking shelter when the tornado sirens went off, I thought it would be fun to try and get funnel clouds on tape. I didn't get that, but I did get this lightning!

thunder and lightning

It has been storming a lot this week, but I like it! The only thing I don't like, is that the mall parking lot turns into a pond when it rains. And since I am an employee, I have to park waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out. So, I was pretty wet by the time I got to my car tonight.

In reference to my last post, I *DID* mention previously that Jack is the best manager ever. Back when I was getting transferred to the hoity toity mall. So yay for me, saving my back.

I made a friend on mojo and I am sad because he will soon be leaving our country. His visa expires. He cracks me up and generally helps to put me in a good mood before I go to work. The only time we have hung out where it was the two of us, we played Super Nintendo and he kicked my ass at Mario Kart. But he said he will probably come back to visit, and maybe Trisha and I can visit him in Germany. Okay, that probably won't happen.

Went to Shawn's 8th grade graduation yesterday. 3 hours in a middle school gym with no air = ewww. But, I was so proud of him. And I got to talk to Mrs. Graham, the best teacher ever. Then last night I got to babysit Austin and I had a great time with him. I took a few pictures of him. With a "real" camera. I think I need to get a digital and stop taking digital pics with my video camera.

Ok, the cable is flickering, as are the lights. I think it's time to sign off.

The bestest boss in the world

Have I ever mentioned that Jack is the best boss ever? He's so great.

Did I also mention he found my blog? :)

woo hoo!

I am on a mini-vacation from work right now, and it is so nice! I'm off Tues-Fri, and then Saturday I only work 9:30-2. It's so nice to have some time off. Yesterday I went and got my eyes checked, and I should have my glasses by Thursday or Friday. Tonight I have a hair appointment. Tomorrow I am taking Austin to the zoo. It is so nice to have this free time! :)

"It's got a curse on it" ... "Provo?"

No, my car.

Last night I was driving home from the mojo musicfest, and some shithead rear ended me. And then drove away! The people behind the people that hit me called in the plate number to the police, so I hope they catch the asshole.

I swear... if it's not one thing with this car, it's another. Stolen, backed into... I think it has a curse on it!

he just won't stop!

now that I have tricked Austin into saying my name, he'll actually say it if I ask him to. so, of course yesterday I just kept asking him to say "becky." I also asked him to say "I love you." Awww.

Things I need to do...

I need to get my driver's license renewed since it expires very soon.

I need to pay my dad for last month's car insurance (I have the money I just keep forgetting to give it to him).

I need to make an appointment for my annual exam.

I need to get my eyes checked.

Hmm. Anything else? I can't remember.

What a week!

I spent most of last week feeling grumpy and cranky. I had a very lovely first date with someone the previous week, but it seemed like he was blowing me off all week, and that just puts me in a foul mood. And work was just very irritating. I love my co-workers, but they were just driving me crazy. I also was having trouble sleeping, and that does not help when you are cranky already.

Luckily, I am off today and can rest up before I get to work 12 hours tomorrow.

My big highlight of last week, of course, was Austin saying my name finally. And then yesterday Mom was watching him while Shawn and Gary had to do some community service thing for Shawn's confirmation. Mom said that Aunt Dee (who is here visiting) had woken up, and Austin could hear her upstairs moving around. She kept saying that it was Aunt Dee Dee, but when Aunt Dee came downstairs, Austin was expecting me (because I am always the one to come from upstairs) and so he was upset. That just made me feel good to know that my little guy was looking for me :) I would like to take him to the zoo or something when I have a day off. But Cheryl said he is afraid of strangers, and just about every other thing that he doesn't know what it is. So, I don't know that he would enjoy it. I just want to have a day with my nephew!

I need to get a recent pic of him and put it up so all you ubers who haven't seen him in a while can "awwww" over him.

Sis is at 26 weeks now... babies seem to be healthy. I'm starting to get excited!

Success!

My sister and Austin came over today. I was tickling him and he was calling to Cheryl, I guess to get me to stop. He would be saying, "Ma, ma!" So I was saying, "Say Becky!" Kind of like, "Say uncle!" And he did! He said Becky! So I said "Ah ha! I tricked you! I made you say my name!" And we both just giggled. YAY!

new month, still rainy

april showers bring may... showers.

it was cold and rainy today, and we didn't have a lot of customers at work. that was fine with me. we were busy on Saturday, even though it was the Kentucky Derby. I wore a hat to work, because all women know that you have to wear a hat on Derby day.

this week there is a managers' meeting in Atlanta for like, all the managers in the southeastern U.S. and they are going to show my award winning video. I would like to be there to see it, but since I am not a manager, I don't get to go. I have to stay here and make sure the district doesn't fall apart.

I've actually got some film projects lined up. Just some short things, and I'll probably just be a production assistant, but I have to start somewhere. YAY!

In other news, I can't remember if I have posted this here or not. Austin, the nephew that is almost two years old, will say almost any word in the English language, except for "Becky." He will say Pat, Daddy, Mommy, Shawn, Grandpa, Grandpa, Sheba, but not Becky. He'll say Becky to other people, but not in front of me. He's a little punk. He knows I want him to say it, so that's why he doesn't say it. But it's ok. It's like our little game. I know he loves me. He gives me kisses and hugs.
