cats
I am feeding kirk's cats while he is at dragoncon. normally this isn't a problem. but this time tama has to have medicine. do you know how hard it is to throw a pill down a cat's throat? I finally gave up and put it in some tuna. I hope he's not supposed to have it on an empty stomach.
so I'm over on Louisville Mojo chatting with some local people. It's kind of sad that there are actually people on there on a Friday night. Okay, there are only 8 of us on there. But still.
Tonight we had a family gathering with my Uncle Chuck and his girlfriend Mary. It was nice. I think the guys are golfing tomorrow and we girls are shopping. I am not much on the whole shopping thing, but we shall see how it goes. I do need a camisole for some sheer-ish tops I have. Tomorrow night they are all going to Caeser's and I don't know what I shall do.

personal ads
just thought I would add a little more about my ad... it's at Louisville Mojo. But I am going to make you go there and explore. I have had a lot of views and replies. it's kind of weird, because I put up an ad that I didn't think people would respond to. oh well.
I have had a very large pimple on my chin this week. I have been trying to make it go away without leaving scars, but it just wants to stay. stupid pimple!!
today makes day 6 in a row for work, but I get the next 4 days off! woo hoo! my uncle chuck and his significant other, mary, are going to be in town. it will be nice because I haven't seen him in 6 years. he was here when I was born, so I feel we share a special bond.
my hair has been getting on my nerves. at my last hair cut, jj gave me bangs, and so now I have to take time to style my hair. I am still not sure if I like them or not. I mean, I think it slims my face and all, it just takes so much more time. and then hair spray. I wish I had enough money so that I could pay jj to live in my house to fix my hair every morning.

oh no, Deb, I TOTALLY win
This is how much I win. Way back in May, we opened a new store in the hoity toity mall here in town. My manager at the time, Jack, had said he was going to take me with him. But then our district manager said no. Well, with my current manager leaving the company, this is facilitating a lot of people moves. So, a manager is coming in to my current store, and bringing her assistant and full timer. Gee, where is Becky going to go? TO THE HOITY TOITY MALL!! Just like she was supposed to go in May! I WIN! I WIN! :)
I appreciate your concern, though Deb. But I would have rather worked open to close every day than worked with that woman any longer. Besides, it would have only been a short period of time that I was without a manager, if it was any time at all.
In other news, it turns out that if you say "I am a total dork" in an online personal ad, it really means "I am a total hottie" and all kinds of people will respond to your ad.

Payless and more payless
I had debated posting this in here, but if someone sees it that shouldn't, oh well. I had been having some issues with my manager at work. I don't know if she knew that we were having issues, but we were. I love her as a person but as a manager there were just some things I disagreed with. Like, all our part timers are either in college or teach college. And they all went back to school today. I told her we really needed to hire someone else. She agreed with me. Not five minutes later, someone walked in and asked if we were hiring and she said "no hon, we're fully staffed." So, anyway, to make a long story short, I win. My manager is leaving the company to go to another company.
Let's see, what else is going on. Austin's first birthday is coming up on Saturday. And Michelle's 5th birthday was this past Saturday. My little ones are growing up so fast. Ok, they're not MY little ones, but I can pretend.

SMILES in the aisles
so we have these new service behaviors we are supposed to do at work and the acronym for it is smiles
S - suggestive sell
M - mention price and value
I - in rack follow up
L - look in top stock and back room
E - explain promotion
S - size kids feet
And they want us to do this in the aisles, so that the customers get the help when they need it, rather than at the register. Anyway, I go up to these two chicks and ask if they need help. They ask if we have anything else army colored and I said "no, as far as dress shoes, those are the only olive colored things we have. But if you need help with anything else, please let me know, ok?" and I walked away. when they went to check out, they said "this store is just asking for a discrimination lawsuit." for anyone that reads my blog that doesn't know me, I am white and these two chicks were black. I don't know what I did to offend them, I was only trying to practice my SMILES in the aisles. I did nothing different with them than I did anyone else today. oh well. It just makes me feel bad because I want everyone to leave my store happy.

hmmm an entry
I hadn't typed in a while, so here's an entry.
Much has happened in my life, but I don't really feel like typing about it.
So instead, I think I'll go comb my hair.

I am going to vomit
The police recovered my car last night. They said it didn't appear to be damaged. They had it towed, so I can't pick it up until tomorrow.
Why am I going to vomit? I didn't remember until today, but I had my PS1 and my DDR dance pads in the trunk.

Somebody stole my car.
Yes, you heard me.
Somebody stole my car.
More accurately, first they stole my keys from my workplace.
THEN, they stole my car.

Seabiscuit
So, I went and saw Seabiscuit today. How could I not? Part of it was shot in Lexington, and it was about a racehorse, and we have racehorsing here! I was actually impressed. I was actually on the edge of my seat for some of the races, and normally I couldn't care less about racing. Of course, come the next Derby, I probably won't care about racing anymore.
You know what's funny about this movie? Tobey Maguire has red curly hair!

Shoes
Back to school shoes... people are buying lots of them... and then our register broke... it was horrible. But, tomorrow will be better. I can just tell!
To answer Arifa's question: We still don't know what was wrong with Tama, for sure, but our best guess is that it was a fungal infection, since it was the treatment for that which made him better. When I was talking to Kirk on the phone today, I could actually hear Tama meowing in the background, and I teared up, cause I haven't heard Tama meow in forever. *sniff*
