Then and Then and Now...?
So, Perry was the first to "name that tune" and so, I will write an entry, in his honor, in the very near future. That's going to be heavy on the "in honor" part, since, I know very little about Perry, personally. I think perhaps I'll write about my trip to England - one of the greatest events of my life, and one that I was very fortunate to share with my parents, especially my dad.
Brant would have been the winner, as he obviously is well versed in must know/must have 70's disco, but he just didn't have the advantage of GMT. Maybe I should send him a copy of the CD as a consolation prize! =)
Then there's Brian. *shaking head* You have no idea how many times I hear, "Stephen's bugging/annoying me" and "Veronica's annoying/bugging me" each day (or if you're a parent of two, or more, you probably do) - they always get teased that it's their job as a brother, or a sister, to annoy the other. Well, that job does not stop once said siblings become adults. No, the brotherly/sisterly job of annoying each other carries on, throughout life, and here we have a perfect example......
Brian's comment to my "Night On Disco Mountain" quiz.....
"I think it's the opening segment of the Beastie Boys' song "Intergalactic Planetary"
Ummmm.......bzzzzz......wrong, but, you get an A for effort, and a definite A+ for successfully annoying your sister, by playing it on the phone, over, and over, and insisting that you were the true winner of my quiz.
So, we've had "Night On Bald Mountain", by Mussorgsky, as well as "Night On Disco Mountain", by David Shire. Now.....to round out this theme that has spread across three entries....I present to you, "Intergalactic Planetary", by The Beastie Boys, featuring a SAMPLE of David Shire's master. (By the way, is that the album version, or a remix of some type, because none of the versions I've found have had that sample at the beginning).

Sorry Brant, the old time zone advantage is on my side.
I think writing about your trip to England Romy will be much more entertaining that writing about me. What I will do is write a 'guest' blog entry and send it to you sometime and then when you are really busy, but feel compelled to update your site, you can use it, if you want?
By the way, the little music control bars have vanished on your site and been replaced with scroll text boxes. I have this nagging suspicion that Jodi is somehow involved...
I don't know the Beastie Boys' tune, so I'll go listen to a sample from my Russian MP3 site.
On the sibling annoying front, Michael continues to annoy Luke so consistently, that we all tell him he is annoying. He readily admits to it now. He now introduces himself as annoying rather than Michael. First he wanted to be Scooby-doo and then a pizza chef; he has now informed us that he intends to be annoying when he grows up. I think this pretty much proves your point straight from the horses/4 yr old's mouth.

The music player looks like it should, to me. Maybe it was just a temporary thing, since audioblog is making changes to their site? I know that my brother was having trouble getting them to show up, and we fixed that by having him download Macromedia Flash Player 8.
That's cute, about your son. "Stop annoying your brother", and "stop annoying your sister", are also frequently heard phrases in our household, as well as the occasional, "stop that, you're annoying ME". =)
Oh, and a guest entry would be great! The next couple of weeks are going to be hectic as all get out, so go ahead and write something up!

The music player is fine now, I've upgraded from 8.0.22.0 to 8.0.24.0...thanks for the advice, techie (hehehe)!

Heheh, no problem, Perry! I may have the jump on some music that Marie likes, but you seem to be an overall MASTER :)
Marie, we should talk music sometime. We may have some interesting divergences and overlaps now. Like I dunno if you've heard much Coil. Clive Barker said that Coil is "The only group I've heard on disc, whose records I've taken off because they made my bowels churn." Mmmm hmmm.... It's great to listen to once in a while in the middle of the night. Too much and you turn into a victim in an HP Lovecraft tale, though. This isn't my main kind of music to listen to these days, but it's interesting stuff.
Oh, sorry, we were talking about annoying siblings. My brother and I haven't annoyed one another in years. But my stepdaughters... ay yay yay, though their mutual irritation has reduced tremendously in the last few years. So there is hope, in my experience.
By the way, my favorite songs on the soundtrack are "A Fifth of Beethoven" and "Open Sesame." Kool and the Gang were the biz back then, but don't you dare put "Celebrate" up here, Marie!

My bad, the verboten song is "Celebration." In related news, Kool & the Gang's co-founder Claydes Charles Smith died a couple of days ago :(
