Aurora Borealis?
Not quite, but there was a dazzling sight, in the sky tonight, as we were getting home from soccer practice.
As we pulled in the driveway, the DJ, on the radio, was talking about all these calls that he'd been receiving, about strange lights in the sky, above the county. I made a point of looking up, and in the other direction, when I got out of the car, and there it was. It looked like two rainbow circle streaks, across the black blackdrop. Really cool. Of course, I made Victor come out and take a look at it, too.
We've been sitting here pondering what it could have been, for the last two hours. I figured I wouldn't see anything about it, on any of the local news sites, until tomorrow, but decided to check our local newspaper's site, just in case, and here it is....
And the accompanying news blurb:
A rocket carrying a military research satellite, seen in Vista near the intersection of North Santa Fe Avenue and West Los Angeles Drive, blasted off Thursday, dazzling spectators from California to Arizona with a rainbow of colors as it streaked across the sky at dusk. The Minotaur rocket carrying a DARPA payload launched into orbit at 7:24 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base, said Maj. Todd Fleming. DARPA is the research and development arm of the Pentagon. The 920-pound 'Streak' payload will stay in orbit for a year, gathering information about the Earth's environment in low orbit. The mission's cost is classified.
I'm glad I heard about it, and was able to see it!

I even pulled out my good tit!
The series premiere of, My Name Is Earl, aired last night. Victor, and I, loved it! It was funny from start to finish! My only complaint? At a half hour, it was too short. This is a sitcom that could easily fill an hour time slot.
It's been a long time since I've actually looked forward to watching a sitcom! Hooray!

How in the hell did that happen?
So, I'm now officially 35. Damn.
We're going out, tonight, which is great. I am excited to spend the evening with my family, but, I had major dental work done, on wednesday, and I am still in some serious pain, as a result.
Birthdays just aren't as fun, when you're an adult, as they were when you were a kid. It sucks!

Checking in...
Just a little entry to say, "hi", and let anybody who looks here, know, that I'm still around. Life's been busy, and tiring, and my little corner of the internet, here, has been very quiet, as a result. I'll be back. Hopefully soon.
