In search of mate...

I think I've seen it all, now.

Electrifying!

Well, we had a fun adventure last night/this morning. Not.

Late last night, Victor was downstairs, watching TV, with the A/C turned up way too high, and it blew the breaker for the living room. It happens, on occasion, and usually isn't any problem to correct. Usually.

The outside lights are on the same circuit, as the living room, so it's almost impossible to see what you're doing, when trying to flip the breaker, at night. He flipped the wrong one - the MAIN breaker, to the entire house, and guess what? It BROKE. Yup, the main power breaker, broken, which means, we ended up with no power, in the entire house!

We both switched breakers on and off, on and off, and nothing was working. So, given that it was very late, we couldn't see what we were doing, and it didn't look as though we were going to be able to figure it out, without the help of someone who understands that kind of thing, we went to bed. Fortunately it wasn't too terribly hot, last night, and having the windows open seemed to keep it cool enough for us to sleep alright. Also, the girls were spending the night, at a neighbor girl's house, so that was one less thing to stress about. Alex was already asleep, by this time, and it was cool enough, in his room, that his sleep wasn't disturbed, any.

I had a Bingbong wake-up call, at 6:30, this morning (he was wrapped up in my hair, chewing on it, loudly), so I got up, grabbed my cell phone, and called my dad, who I knew was already awake, at that time of day. He sounded as if he knew what the problem was (a broken main power breaker switch), and said he'd be right over.

He was right, the switch was dead, and needed replaced. Sounds easy enough, but apparently, it's a lot harder than it seems. So, Victor and he, worked on it, and worked, and worked, and worked. Many trips to the hardware store, a lot of cussing, and four hours later, FINALLY, we had power again! *PHEW*

What a pain in the ass, but at least they got it fixed before it started getting hot!

Short on words....

but I can make up for it, with pictures!

Here are some pics of Alex, from this morning. Here he is, hanging out, on the couch, in his jammies/undies, with the remote - such a little man, isn't he? Nevermind the fact that he was watching The Wiggles. =)

Here he is playing what I refer to as the, "give mommy a heart attack game". He slides his butt off the edge of the couch, grabbing two handfuls of couch, in his little fists, and then lowers himself to the ground. He does it, ever so gently, but it makes my heart skip a beat, still, when I see him starting to do it.

Can't ya tell that he's a little prankster, by that look on his face?

Moderate ado about very little

Watching Bessie, and Bingbong, together is very entertaining. They were fascinated with a fly, yesterday. It was fun to watch their different hunting skills in action.

Bessie is a very proficient hunter, he's proven that, on many occasions, prior to becoming imprisoned in the house, after Shadow disappeared. Birds, mice, lizards, and even a mole, were no match for him. He's very patient, with his stalking, drawing very little attention to himself. Well, until the moments leading up to the attack, and then he gets that butt shaking thing going on something serious. Shake it like a polaroid picture, indeed!

Bingbong, on the other hand, is not all that patient, and he shakes his booty like a white guy. He's getting better, though. I've noticed marked improvement in his butt wiggle, over the last week, so perhaps he's taking notes from the pro...? There is something that he is very good at, though - the crouch walk. He will hightail it, clear across the room, in his little crouch walk way, without missing a beat. He almost looks like one of those munchkin cats, he's so low to the ground. Since there is no real prey, in the house, except for us humans, and Bessie, I don't know how useful that skill is, in the world of hunting, but it is cute as all get out.
