Resurfacing......pt. 2
Hmm....well, umm....Alex. Where to begin? Without going into too great of detail, right now, let me say that we feel pretty certain that we have finally discovered what is behind Alex's disabilities.
We had an appointment with a Geneticist, yesterday, and she is having some tests run for a genetic disorder that is newly recognized. She gave us the name of it, and some info to go off of, for an internet search, and let me tell you - this sounds exactly like Alex. Exactly.
We went down, and had them draw the blood, for the tests, this afternoon, so now it's just a matter of waiting. The preliminary results should be back in about 2 weeks, but, many times this defect isn't picked up in the preliminary, and then it will take around 6-8 weeks, to get a definite result.
There are some pretty serious issues that go along with this particular chromosome abnormality, though none of it involves any serious, ongoing, medical conditions(organ problems, and the like) that some of the other chromosomal defects have. Due to the severity of some of the info, I don't know that I'm going to go into it, much, before we have a definite diagnosis. It's more than enough for Victor and I to be trudging through all of this, and trying to process it. There's really not any need to say things are going to be a certain way, when we really don't know that, yet, for sure. I'll tell you what, though, given what we've read about this, and all the little nuances that describe Alex, to a T, we'll be surprised if it comes back that this is not it.

Hmm....well, as for this one, I really thought that it was going to be the same one that Jodi got (Seer), but, nah, apparently not. I dunno. Jodi? Maybe you have some imput on this? For some reason I kept thinking of Vegas, when reading the results. Heh.

Ah, the feather boa - YES! I was actually thinking about my little jaunt inside of that one display (by the giftshop in Excaliber) with all the comfy pillows. =)
